The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed several cases of a novel coronavirus for 2019. There were no other cases in Texas, but the case was changed because the patient is under state quarantine after returning and has not interacted with the public in the Texas community. A new coronvirus has been discovered, causing an outbreak of respiratory disease in at least three Texas communities, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

We are working closely with the CDC to monitor the outbreak that has developed in three Texas communities: Brownsville, Fort Worth and Houston, Texas. The CDC maintains a list of those infected and updates its national numbers every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

As of January 30, 2020, the United States has not reported any confirmed cases of human-to-human spread of the virus. Once a person has tested negative for the virus and is no longer at risk of spreading, he must remain in an isolated medical facility for at least two weeks. The virus can spread through direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person, such as blood, urine, saliva or saliva.
